Job Description
Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to be located in São José dos Campos or São Paulo.
Leads and manages a team of individual contributors and/or supervisors within the Software Engineering Full Stack domain. Responsible for coding, overseeing performance management, defining project objectives, and aligning team efforts with organizational goals. Acts as the primary point of contact for the team, directing workflows and critical initiatives. Applies advanced engineering expertise to guide the development of industry-leading products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, development and delivery of scalable full‑stack solutions using React and both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Drive the implementation of high‑performance web applications coordinated with content management systems, focusing on scalability, accessibility and user experience.
- Champion engineering excellence by enforcing automated testing strategies, CI/CD practices and DevOps automation.
- Guide the deployment of cloud‑native applications on AWS or Azure using containers (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures, employing Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Establish monitoring, alerting and incident response practices; lead incident triage and post‑mortem analysis when needed.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying technical debt, improving system resiliency and carrying out secure configuration and secret‑management policies.
- Lead squads of 6–12 engineers (internal vendor): plan sprints, unblock delivery, perform code/design reviews, and coach on engineering practices.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, IT, or related practical experience.
Experience and Skills
- 6 years in software engineering; 2 years leading engineers or acting as tech lead.
- Hands‑on full‑stack: React, REST/GraphQL, relational/NoSQL databases.
- Content Management System experience (e.g., Content Stack, Drupal, Payload CMS).
- Cloud and DevOps: AWS/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes (or ECS), CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket), IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Practical experience building with LLMs/agents and integrating external APIs/tools.
- Strong system build skills and clear communication with technical and non‑technical partners.
- Proficient English for working with global teams.
Preferred
- Experience building LLM‑powered features using frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Prisma/ORM and advanced capabilities (e.g., middleware ISR).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, ECS and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic, Grafana).
- Background in enterprise environments with regulatory compliance and audit requirements.
