You Are.

An experienced and driven video editor professional with experience producing quality video edits, ideally within the media, entertainment, or sports industry. You are passionate about growth, entrepreneurial in spirit, and able to work in collaboration with a team

You Will.

  • Edit audio and video for podcast, YouTube videos, advertisments, branded content, and more to create high-quality, color corrected, synchronized video content.
  • Ensure audio clarity, correct sync issues, and enhance sound quality with noise reduction, EQ, and other techniques.
  • Add intro/outro music, sound effects, and transitions for a professional and polished final product.
  • Select impactful or interesting moments from episodes to create shorter video clips for social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Tailor clips for specific platform requirements (aspect ratios, length, captioning) and audience engagement.
  • Add dynamic motion graphics, lower thirds, captions, and animations to enhance viewer experience.
  • Create and integrate title cards, branding elements, and background visuals in alignment with the podcast’s visual identity
  • Work closely with hosts, producers, and social media managers to align on styles, themes, key messages, and desired tone

Job Requirements

You Have.

  • The ability to speak advanced to fluent English
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in video editing, preferably with podcast or interview-style content.
  • Skills Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar video editing software; familiarity with audio software (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Audition) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of sound design, color correction, and high level motion graphics/animations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control in all aspects of editing.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience through a portfolio of video editing work.

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Acquisition Editor. In this role, you will focus on recruiting new authors and content for our Journal.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and recruit new authors, guiding them through the manuscript submission process for JoVE Journal.
  • Contact potential Guest Editors and collaborate with them to build a Methods Collections, our version of a special issue.
  • Establish and maintain a strong network of scientists/journal authors to drive content acquisition and grow submission rates.
  • Collaborate with the peer review team to facilitate the publication of manuscripts.
  • Meet or exceed monthly acquisition targets.

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in the Life Sciences.
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-driven, with an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, influencing and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with the publishing process is a plus.

What You\ll Make Happen

  • Reviewing never-before-seen TV episodes before they’re released
  • Using Adobe Suite to produce high quality short and long form video content for high profile US TV clients
  • Designing new or working with existing motion graphics packages
  • Suggesting creative solutions and putting forward own ideas for engaging and innovative content
  • Self-evaluating and reviewing own work before presenting to line manager
  • Developing own skills by learning from other team members and through independent research

Your Expertise

  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop
  • A basic level of proficiency is definitely not a deal-breaker but willingness and determination to learn would be compulsory
  • Knowledge of encoding and optimisation for specific social platforms
  • Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Strong editorial sense both visually and in terms of storytelling
  • Ability to adjust well to feedback and changing priorities
  • High work-ethic and self-motivation

We are seeking a Video Editor & Graphic Designer with creative thinking, hands-on expertise and excellent English communication with proven expertise in:

  • Creating graphics for articles, social media, banners and other digital assets
  • Creating and editing videos for use on social media and YouTube
  • Creating and delivering motion graphics for various media
  • Editing video footage and adding effects/elements to enhance motion graphics
  • Working closely with the marketing team

The GOALS for this position is to:

  • Produce high-quality graphics and videos that align with OysterLink’s brand styleguide and drive engagement.
  • Support marketing campaigns by delivering creative assets on time.
  • Innovate and improve content by introducing new designs and video trends.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of visual design and video editing experience, as well as a strong portfolio of sample projects to share
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, video editing
  • Proven experience creating digital graphics for social media, articles, banners, and marketing campaigns
  • Expertise in video editing for social media and YouTube, including pacing, storytelling, and sound synchronization
  • Must have the ability to storyboard or translate ideas to team members
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro) or equivalent tools
  • Strong written and spoken English skills
