Qualificações

• Experiência em manutenção e desenvolvimento de novas funcionalidades em aplicações Ruby on Rails.
• Experiência em desenvolvimento backend com uma linguagem moderna como Python.
• Sólido conhecimento em serviços AWS e arquitetura em nuvem.
• Experiência com pipelines CI/CD e testes automatizados.

Responsabilidades

• Manter e desenvolver novas funcionalidades para a aplicação web Ruby on Rails.
• Trabalhar com serviços AWS para implantar, monitorar e gerenciar sistemas.
• Colaborar com outros engenheiros para projetar e implementar novas funcionalidades.
• Documentar o design e operação dos sistemas.

Progress Rail is seeking a motivated and skilled Cloud Engineer to join its dynamic team. This full-time remote position reports directly to the Cloud Manager and plays a key role in designing and maintaining scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure that supports our cutting‑edge rail technology solutions. The role requires independent judgment, strong problem‑solving abilities, resourcefulness, and the capacity to navigate ambiguity with creativity and initiative. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a solid background in cloud technologies, capable of balancing speed, quality, and cost‑effectiveness to meet both customer and business needs.

Job Purpose

In this role, the candidate is responsible developing & maintaining ETL / ELD ingestion, API, Web and cloud systems, that deliver real time Railroad data to customers.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop new features for Ruby on Rails web application used for software and model simulation management.
• Maintain and enhance the ETL, web and API systems.
• Ensure the systems are highly available, scalable, and performant.
• Work with Amazon AWS services to deploy, monitor, and manage the systems.
• Collaborate with other engineers to design and implement new features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the production environment.
• Optimize the performance of the systems and ensure they meet security standards.
• Document the design, implementation, and operation of the systems.
• Architect and maintain front end web applications.

Technical Skill

Experience maintaining and developing new features in Ruby on Rails web applications, particularly those used for software and model simulation management.

Experience in backend development with a modern programming language such as Python.

Proven experience with ETL systems and API microservices development.

Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture.

Experience with CI / CD pipelines and automated testing.

Experience building and deploying high-quality front-end web applications in Angular / Vue, React.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with video streaming services.
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
• Familiarity with Java SpringBoot.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Redis, MongoDB, Docker, and Websockets.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

Language

Advanced English. Direct interface with global teams. Reporting to a Manager in the US.
