Job summary

Atomic Hr is partnering with a U.S.-based higher education marketing agency to hire a Technical SEO Lead. This fully remote role owns technical SEO across a portfolio of university partners, driving visibility in traditional search and AI-enabled discovery.

You will run audits, write developer-ready specs, guide fixes to live, and build Claude-based tools to automate audits, reporting, QA, and content production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 focused on technical SEO
• Agency experience or multi-site exposure preferred
• Proficient with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and backlink tools
• Strong WordPress knowledge including themes, plugins, redirects, and schema

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
• Write dev-ready specs for web developers and client teams, then follow through until fixes are released and verified
• Handle light WordPress implementation: titles, meta descriptions, plugin-level redirects, and schema using tools like Yoast or Rank Math
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 to catch drops, errors, and indexing problems
• Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO): crawler access, structured data, entity optimization, and content structure
• Design and build Claude-based tools, agents, and workflows for audits, prioritization, reporting, and QA
• Build content production systems converting briefs into near-publish drafts
• Translate standards into reusable systems for the team
• Connect GSC, GA4, crawl exports, and Ahrefs/Semrush into workflows
