Job summary

Design Pickle, Llc is hiring a Technical SEO Lead for a fully remote role with a US-based higher education marketing agency. You will oversee technical SEO across client accounts, run audits, and draft developer-ready specs while building Claude-based tools to automate audits, reporting, and QA.

You’ll collaborate with the SEO Lead and Executive Director of SEO, monitor Search Console and GA4, and design scalable systems that improve visibility for multiple universities and nonprofit partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO with at least 3 focused on technical SEO
• Proven ability to identify high-impact issues and drive fixes
• Hands-on experience with Claude for building AI-assisted workflows

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
• Prioritize issues by impact and effort
• Write dev-ready specs for web developers and client teams, then follow through until fixes are released and verified
• Handle light WordPress implementation yourself: titles, meta descriptions, plugin-level redirects, and schema
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 to catch drops, errors, and indexing problems
• Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO)
• Build the systems that scale the SEO service
• Design and build Claude-based tools, agents, and workflows for technical audits, issue prioritization, reporting, and QA
• Build content production systems that convert briefs and targets into drafts
• Translate team standards into reusable systems
• Connect Search Console, GA4, crawl exports, and Ahrefs/Semrush into workflows
• Document each system, train the team, and measure impact
• Support the team and client success
• Act as the team's go-to resource on technical questions
• Join client calls when needed
• Evaluate emerging search technologies and recommend new tools and workflows
