Job summary

Bayer is seeking a visionary leader to define and drive the research and impact acceleration strategy across its breeding pipeline. You will lead a global team, set standards for rapid, evidence-based decision making, and align technology investments with long-range strategic goals for faster product delivery.

You will partner with Crop Science, R&D, and commercial teams, ensuring adoption of innovative practices across crops and regions while upholding high standards of safety and ethics.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Plant/Animal Breeding, Quantitative/Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies, analytics, genomics, and/or quantitative genetics with a track record of applying them.
• Ability to collaborate across regions and functions on complex problems.
• Embrace Bayer Values and demonstrate leadership attributes in cross-functional settings.

Responsibilities

• Define vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across early breeding pipeline.
• Set standards for hypothesis-driven design and evidence to enable rapid iteration.
• Shape enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, genomics, phenotyping, and analytics.
• Lead adoption strategies and change management to embed new practices at scale.
• Own impact metrics and report on cycle time, genetic gain, and adoption.
• Provide technical and product knowledge to the Capability Center.
• Contribute to Global Breeding strategies and the Long-Range Plan.
• Engage with universities to attract future talent.
• Collaborate with leadership units to connect research acceleration with product and supply decisions.
• Ensure HS&E, Compliance, DEI, and Human Rights considerations across the hub.
