You will define and lead the vision, strategy, and multi-year plan for accelerating research, shaping technology investments, and embedding new practices across crops and regions. The role emphasizes ethical practices, safety, and impactful reporting to leadership.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Plant/Animal Breeding, quantitative genetics, data science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies and genomics with a track record of innovation.
• Proven ability to collaborate across regions and functions to solve complex problems.
• Demonstrated alignment with Bayer Values, Ambition, Collaboration and Creativity.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across the breeding pipeline.
• Set standards for hypothesis-driven design and evidence-ready decisions.
• Shape enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, genomics, phenotyping.
• Lead adoption of proven innovations and govern standards, training, and change management.
• Own acceleration impact metrics and report cycle time, genetic gain, cost and adoption.
• Provide technical and strategic knowledge to the Capability Center and focus areas.
• Contribute to Global Breeding strategies and the Long-Range Plan.
• Engage universities to attract talent and view Bayer as a strategic destination.
• Coordinate with leadership across commercial and product supply teams.
• Ensure HS&E, Compliance, DEI, and Human Rights considerations across the hub.
