Job summary

Bayer seeks a Research and Impact Acceleration Lead to define and execute the vision for accelerating research across the early breeding pipeline. You will drive speed, evidence quality, and iterative learning to deliver faster, higher-quality products for growers and customers worldwide.

You will lead enabling technologies, establish standards for decision-ready evidence, and govern adoption across crops and regions while aligning with Bayer's values and long-range plans.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in Plant or Animal Breeding, Quantitative/Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies, analytics, genomics, and quantitative genetics with a track record of applying innovations.
• Ability to collaborate across regions and functions to solve complex problems and drive adoption of new practices.
• Experience aligning Capability Center activities with Bayer’s Values and leadership expectations.

Responsibilities

• Define a multi-year vision and strategy for accelerating research in the early breeding pipeline.
• Set standards for hypothesis-driven design and evidence to enable rapid decision-making and scale.
• Shape enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, phenotyping, analytics, and digital workflows.
• Lead adoption strategies, governance, and change management across crops and regions.
• Own the impact narrative and metrics for success including cycle time, genetic gain, and cost.
• Provide technical and strategic support to global Precision Breeding and R&D focus areas.
• Contribute to Global Breeding strategies and long-range planning.
• Engage with universities to attract talent and position Bayer as a strategic destination.
• Collaborate across commercial and product supply teams to connect research acceleration with decisions.
• Maintain HS&E, Compliance, DEI, and human rights focus within the Capability Hub.
