Job summary

HoopStars, a Toronto-based youth basketball business, seeks a hands-on General Manager for marketing, ecommerce growth and profitability. You will split time between running HoopStars and building the parent company’s marketing team across brands, with LATAM remote work and Toronto hours.

Candidates should show results in paid acquisition, conversion and retention, plus experience leading marketers or agencies.

Qualifications

Proven results in paid acquisition, conversion and retention.
Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives or agencies.
Ability to translate ecommerce methods into a service business with real delivery capacity.
Strong English and effective remote leadership.
Commercial responsibility beyond a marketing budget: pricing, margins, staffing, forecasts or profitability.

Responsibilities

Run HoopStars: own business plan, budget, revenue, profitability; lead sales and operations.
Grow digital growth: paid search, social, landing pages, funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
Build the parent marketing team: define structure, recruit specialists, manage contractors or agencies.
Establish commercial discipline: connect campaign performance to paying customers and profit with reliable reporting.
Stay close to execution: inspect advertising accounts, diagnose funnel problems and launch improvements.
