Job summary

HoopStars, a Toronto-based youth basketball business, is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth across HoopStars and its parent brand portfolio. The role combines running HoopStars with building and managing the parent company’s marketing team, with emphasis on remote leadership and cross-brand strategy.

You will own budgets, performance, and customer experience, turning ads into customers and improving conversion and retention.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated results in paid acquisition, conversion and retention.
• Commercial responsibility beyond a marketing budget: pricing, margins, staffing, forecasts or profitability.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.

Responsibilities

• Own HoopStars business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts; lead sales and operations to align programs with demand.
• Drive digital growth: optimize paid search, social, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers and referrals.
• Build the parent marketing team: structure, recruit specialists, manage contractors or agencies, and oversee cross-brand performance.
• Establish commercial discipline: link campaign performance to customers and enrollment, allocate marketing investment with reporting and testing.
• Stay close to execution: review accounts, diagnose funnel issues, and lead improvements while building a capable team.
