Job summary
A leading biotechnology firm is seeking a General Manager to oversee its Dubai office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the biotech sector with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Responsibilities include developing market strategies for rare disease therapies, managing P&L for the Dubai office, and leading cross-functional teams. Strong leadership and compliance knowledge in the Middle East are essential. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive expansion in an important market.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in international sales or Middle East regional markets.
- Experience in organizational operations and revenue management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute market strategies for rare disease therapies across the Middle East.
- Oversee full P&L management of the Dubai office.
- Lead cross-functional teams including Sales and Marketing.
Skills
Our client is a biotechnology company headquartered in USA, providing rare disease therapies to patients in the United States and the Middle East. To support its continued expansion in the Middle East, the company is seeking a General Manager to lead and oversee its Dubai office.
- Develop and execute market strategies for rare disease therapies across the Middle East, particularly in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
- Oversee full P&L management of the Dubai office.
- Lead cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Logistics.
- Develop strategies to enhance brand awareness and increase market share.
- Identify new sales channels and establish strategic partnerships.
- Conduct market analysis and monitor competitive landscape by region.
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, government authorities, and distributors.
- Manage key customers/partners and collaborate with Government Affairs.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly sales performance.
- Manage and support the performance of the 8-member Dubai office team.
- Strengthen team capabilities and lead recruitment when necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with headquarters and align major projects.
- Understand Middle Eastern regulatory requirements and manage related issues.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and internal company processes.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in international sales or Middle East regional markets.
- Experience in organizational operations and revenue management (P&L experience preferred).
- Proven leadership experience.
- Strong proactiveness, drive, and execution capability in MENA marketing
