Job description
Job Purpose

The Tool Crib Controller is responsible for the effective control, storage, issuance, return, calibration, repair, and traceability of all tools, special tools, test equipment, and consumables used for Air Arabia and Third-Party aircraft maintenance. The role ensures full compliance with Company SOPs, Manufacturer recommendations, AMOS system requirements, and applicable regulatory authority standards, while supporting safe, continuous 24/7 maintenance operations.

Key Result Responsibilities
  • Control and manage the Tool Store inventory, including receipt, storage, issuance, return, calibration, repair, and release of all tools, special tools, test equipment, toolboxes, kits, and consumables.
  • Store tools and equipment in accordance with Manufacturer recommendations and Company SOPs, ensuring protection against damage, loss, or pilferage.
  • Issue and receive tools strictly as per procedures, ensuring all transactions, storage locations, and tool status are accurately recorded in AMOS.
  • Ensure proper tagging, identification, and segregation of serviceable and unserviceable tools; maintain availability of serviceable tools only.
  • Monitor and control calibration and periodic inspection due dates; remove expired or due tools from service and ensure appropriate “Do Not Use” tagging.
  • Coordinate with engineers to identify unserviceable tools; arrange repair, calibration, or replacement and follow up with vendors and Procurement to meet turnaround time (TAT) requirements.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory checks and audits, reporting discrepancies and stock status to the Tool Shop & GSE Supervisor.
  • Maintain Tool Store conditions in compliance with approved standards for safety, storage, temperature, humidity, and cleanliness.
  • Confirm tool reconciliation to the Production Controller prior to aircraft release to ensure safety and FOD prevention.
  • Provide ad-hoc tool and equipment support for Airline and Third-Party aircraft maintenance as required.
  • Support continuous 24/7 shift operations and assist the Supervisor in maintaining operational readiness and compliance.
  • AOG tools & equipment preparation and dispatching the AOG tools & equipment.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is preferred. Diploma or Technical Certificate in any related field from a recognized institution combined with the required experience and exposure is acceptable.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and exposure to applicable civil aviation rules and regulations related to the acceptance, storage, control, and issuance of tools and equipment used for aircraft maintenance.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with engineers, technicians, supervisors, vendors, and support teams.
  • Strong safety mindset and compliance-driven approach.
  • Fluent in English Language.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance tools, special tools, test equipment, and tool control procedures.
  • Hands‑on experience with AMOS Maintenance & Engineering System (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of calibration requirements, tagging systems, and serviceability control.
  • Understanding of aviation regulatory requirements related to tool control and safety.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
Work Experience
  • With 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in a Tool Crib, Tool Store, or similar role within the airline or MRO industry; experience with a low‑cost carrier (LCC) is an advantage.
  • Experience in using Inventory Management Systems (IMS), such as AMOS, is preferred.
  • Working experience with inventory or maintenance management software will be considered an advantage.
