Job summary

A leading construction company in Dubai is seeking a Technical Engineer - MEP to provide support and lead the drafting team. Responsibilities include managing drawings production, preparing calculations, and coordinating with project teams. Responsibilities

  • Manage GFC and As-Built drawings production.

  • Manage layouts and detailed MEP drawings per project specifications.
  • Supervise and lead the drafting team.
  • Provide technical support from design to execution.
  • Coordinate with MEP, Civil teams, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Review and approve material submittals.
  • Deliver GFC and As-Built drawings.
  • Study design/IFC drawings and raise RFIs.

Job description

GENERAL OBLIGATIONS

  • Maintain constant communication with LDP and immediate reporting authorities regarding deliverables and their status.
  • Immediately flag risks related to delays, cost overruns, quality issues, or other concerns to LDP and reporting authorities.
  • Be available on standby during vacations and weekends when critical deliverables affect business needs, and set up proxy systems when unable to communicate directly.
  • Be accountable for personal work and that of subordinates.
  • Undertake structured Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Perform well under pressure and meet tight targets.
  • Follow all QA/QC procedures for work within scope.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by wearing smart business attire.

Role Description:

  • Provide technical support and lead the MEP Drafting team to develop GFC drawings according to company and project requirements, review material submittals, GFC drawing samples, GFC as-built drawings, and technical calculations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage GFC and As-Built drawings production.
  • Prepare engineering calculations.
  • Support authority documentation.
  • Manage layouts and detailed MEP drawings per project specifications.
  • Supervise and lead the drafting team, ensuring all drawings meet standards.
  • Provide technical support from design to execution and handover.
  • Coordinate actively with MEP, Civil teams, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Review and approve material submittals.
  • Deliver GFC and As-Built drawings.
  • Study design/IFC drawings, specifications, and raise RFIs for discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed logs for materials, GFC drawings, RFIs, and method statements.
  • Interact effectively with team members and project stakeholders.
  • Attend site meetings to discuss engineering requirements.
  • Review material submittals, GFC, As-Built drawings, and technical calculations.
