Job Purpose

The Workshop Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of technicians in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial vehicles. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and organizational skills to ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of repair jobs while delivering excellent customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial vehicles including mechanical, electrical, and air-conditioning systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians, ensuring adherence to safety, efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Handle complex technical issues using advanced diagnostic tools (preferably Volvo/Renault systems).
  • Manage job allocation, prioritize repair tasks, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct final inspections and ensure all work meets manufacturer and company standards.
  • Liaise professionally with clients and service providers to explain technical issues, updates, and solutions.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records, ensuring compliance with company policies and warranty procedures.
  • Identify process gaps, recommend solutions, and drive operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
Qualification, Experience And Skills
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Volvo/Renault Trucks or similar heavy‑duty vehicles.
  • Expertise in electrical systems, engine mechanics, and HVAC for commercial vehicles.
  • Strong leadership skills with prior team management experience.
  • Certification from a recognized technical institute (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Fluency in English/French (local West African languages a plus).
  • Ability to work under pressure and train junior staff.
