Job Description:

The Cashier is responsible for delivering a smooth, accurate, and friendly checkout experience for customers, both in-store and through online delivery platforms. This role represents the final point of contact in the customer journey and plays a key part in upholding Golden Cart’s premium service standards, efficiency, and brand image.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service
  • Greet customers warmly and professionally at all times
  • Ensure polite, respectful, and efficient service at the checkout counter
  • Assist customers with basic inquiries or direct them to the appropriate staff member
  • Maintain a calm and positive attitude during peak hours
Cash Handling & Transactions
  • Accurately scan and process items using the POS system
  • Handle cash, card, and digital payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)
  • Issue receipts and process refunds or exchanges according to company policy
  • Ensure correct pricing, promotions, and discounts are applied
Talabat, Now Now & Online Order Handling
  • Receive, process, and prepare Talabat and Now Now orders accurately and on time
  • Coordinate with in-store staff to ensure correct picking and packing of items
  • Verify order details before handover to delivery riders
  • Maintain clear communication to avoid delays, missing items, or errors
Accuracy & Compliance
  • Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Report discrepancies immediately to the supervisor
  • Follow all company procedures for cash handling and loss prevention
Store Support
  • Keep the checkout and online order area clean, organized, and presentable
  • Assist with packing groceries carefully and efficiently
  • Support basic store tasks when required
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Previous cashier or retail experience preferred (supermarket experience is a plus)
  • Fluent English required; Arabic fluency is a strong advantage
  • Comfortable using POS systems and delivery platforms (Talabat and Now Now experience is a plus)
