Job description

Role:

To manage, control, and maintain accurate inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables required for uninterrupted operation of dairy processing and packaging equipment, while ensuring proper storage, traceability, and compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and record spare parts and maintenance materials.
  • Maintain accurate stock records (manual or ERP/CMMS system).
  • Issue spare parts against authorized requisitions and record all transactions.
  • Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Store spare parts in an organized, labeled, and easily accessible manner.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage, corrosion, or contamination.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the spare parts store in line with dairy hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure timely availability of critical spares.
  • Assist in planning spare parts requirements during shutdowns and preventive maintenance.
  • Raise purchase requisitions for spare parts as per consumption and maintenance plans.
  • Track lead times and follow up with procurement to avoid equipment downtime.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Diploma or certificate in Mechanical / Electrical / Stores Management (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience as a storekeeper in a dairy, food processing, or manufacturing plant.
  • Knowledge of dairy plant equipment spare parts is an advantage.
  • Strong inventory control and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge in MS Office/ ERP/SAP
