Department: Engineering / R&D
Reporting To: Manager – R&D
Role Summary
As Design and R&D Engineer you will lead the end-to-end design, development, and enhancement of HVAC and coil products. You’ll bridge innovative R&D initiatives—such as thermal system simulations and psychrometric lab setup—with hands‑on design activities, including PPAP coordination, UL certification support, and CNC drafting oversight. This hybrid role demands strong technical acumen, programming proficiency, and team leadership to drive product excellence and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Product R&D & Simulation
- Develop, test, and refine advanced HVAC thermal solutions using numerical methods (FDM/FEM) and psychrometric analysis.
- Set up and manage psychrometric lab facilities, sensor selection, calibration, and PLC-based automation.
Coil Design & PPAP Coordination
- Lead coil geometry analysis and selection using specialized software, ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards.
- Own the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for OEM customers and support UL certification submissions.
Drafting & CNC Programming Leadership
- Supervise the drafting team to produce accurate production drawings and CNC files, ensuring timely release to the shop floor.
Technical Support & Collaboration
- Provide engineering clarifications to sales and procurement teams and address OEM customer queries.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to implement lean manufacturing and process‑optimization practices.
Standards & Compliance
- Ensure designs meet AHRI, ASHRAE, EUROVENT, and other relevant standards.
Team Development
- Mentor junior engineers, drafters, and technicians; foster continuous improvement in the R&D and design functions.
