Job summary

A healthcare service provider in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to monitor patient progress and develop treatment plans for speech and language disorders. The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Speech-Language Pathology, a DOH license, and at least 2 years of experience, especially with children. Strong communication skills are essential. Immediate availability is preferred for this full-time position. This role does not offer remote work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment accordingly.
  • Evaluate test results to diagnose speech and language disorders.
  • Administer assessment tests to patients.
  • Record information on evaluations and treatment progress.
  • Develop treatment plans for various speech disorders.
  • Teach clients to control speech mechanisms.
  • Create speech exercise programs to enhance abilities.
  • Design alternative communication devices and strategies.
  • Refer clients to additional services if necessary.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment accordingly.
  • Evaluate hearing and speech/language test results and medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorder.
  • Administer hearing or speech/language evaluation tests or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairments using written and oral tests and special instruments.
  • Record information on the initial evaluation, treatment progress, and discharge of clients.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorder, and inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems based on own assessments and recommendations of physicians, psychologists, and social workers.
  • Teach clients to control or strengthen tongue, jaw, face muscles, and breathing mechanisms.
  • Develop speech exercise programs to reduce disabilities.
  • Design, develop, and employ alternative diagnostic or communication devices and strategies.
  • Refer clients to additional medical or educational services if needed.
Qualifications
  • BSc in Speech-Language Pathology / Speech and Language Therapy with DOH license.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Strong communication skills.
