Job summary

An established HSE organization is seeking an HSE professional in Abu Dhabi to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Responsibilities include monitoring performance, conducting risk assessments, and implementing training programs. The ideal candidate should hold a relevant degree and certifications, have at least 4 years of experience, and be fluent in Arabic and English. Qualifications

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent certificate is required.

Job Description
Core Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate compliance to the requirements of applicable legal requirements.
  • Consultation with outside experts on HSE matters when required.
  • Assist in implementing AD Ports Group Health, Safety and Environment (IHSEMS) Management System.
  • Assist line manager in establishing HSE performance, inspection plan, management walkabout plan and other administrative activities related to HSE department.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other relevant parties to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
  • Monitoring tenants/contractors HSE Performance and provides support to them.
  • Evaluate the new tenant HSE risk, HSE plans, Emergency plan and ensure to review/complete the Management of change (MOC).
  • Coordinate the activities Ports HSE committee(s)
  • Update, evaluate, implement and monitor compliance to the requirements of national and international regulations, standards and code of practices.
  • Implementation, creation of HSE procedures on site, based upon existing Policy, maintaining and updating port evacuation plan.
  • Participation/Develop and carrying out the external & internal Audits, reporting according to established systems.
  • Oversee implementation of operational systems and procedure to include (permit to work procedure, Lock-out/Tag-out system (LOTO), Hazardous chemical-MSDS, PPE procedure and other required.
  • Responsible in Order suspension of activities that pose high-risk threats at the operation fields.
  • Provide information to management on accident/incident in a timely manner and Analyze incident results, and trends aiming to avoid incidents reoccurrences.
  • Review & Develop the Risk Assessments/register of Abu Dhabi Ports Group.
  • Oversee implementation of smart program on port site.
  • Promote HSE Observation and Near Miss reporting among the employees of Abu Dhabi Ports and other Port Users, retain and preserve evidence of unsafe act or unsafe conditions.
  • Recommend measures to protect workers from potentially hazardous work, heat stress strike and to ensure all the safe requirements are provide.
  • Lead the process of hazard identification, risk management and advice the employees of Abu Dhabi Ports Group and other Port Users to implement risk management program and to keep the risk register updated and maintained.
  • Identify HSE training needs, develop and implement training programs as needed to ensure continuous improvement of employee HSE Behavior and performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Engineering, HSE /Science.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent HSE achievement certificate
  • AD EHS Practitioner Certificate. Familiarity with International HSE Regulations is a minimum requirement.
  • Fluent Arabic & English Languages
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role
