- Ensure staff development, talent management, and operational alignment with GCAA’s mission, responding effectively to crises and emergencies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, providing guidance, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
ATC Operations
- Oversee the coordination with national and international ATC units, ensuring procedural compliance and optimal operational performance.
- Drive initiatives to enhance environmental sustainability, operational resilience and staff management, contributing to broader organizational goals.
- Evaluate operational data to provide insights and strategies that enhance the ATC operations ecosystem, ensuring smooth integration with all units.
- Monitor and assess operational performance, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous operational improvement.
- Participate in internal meetings, workgroups and strategic planning to enhance operational efficiency and response readiness.
Contingency Planning Development
- Develop, review, and update comprehensive contingency plans to ensure readiness for potential disruptions aligning them with the latest regulations and industry trends.
Regularly review and maintain Business Continuity (BCM) documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats to ATC operations and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Proactively monitor emerging risks and trends, adjusting contingency strategies to maintain operational resilience.
Quality and Standards
- Leverage data-driven insights to evaluate operational performance, identify trends, and implement strategies for continuous safety and efficiency improvements.
- Develop targeted improvement strategies to close performance gaps and enhance operational standards, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Design and implement competency programs for operational staff ensuring that training and development initiatives align with both regulatory requirements and evolving industry needs.
Safety Assessment
- Participate and provide technical and operational expertise in safety assessments of ATM systems prior to implementation.
- Report identified risks with possible mitigation.
Policies, Procedures & Processes
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of quality control measures and operational procedures, ensuring compliance with international and national standards.
- Ensure that all procedures, including Operational Instructions and Local Air Traffic Service Instructions, are continuously updated and communicated to support operational excellence.
- Continuously assess and refine existing procedures to ensure they meet evolving industry standards and promote operational excellence.
- Consult operational staff in any changes, updates and operational activities to provide feedback and improvements.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or 5 years' work experience within an operational air traffic control unit or a similar environment
