Overview

The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Specialist to lead and manage the university's online presence. The selected candidate will play a key role in building brand awareness promoting academic programs and enhancing community engagement through innovative digital storytelling across platforms such as Instagram LinkedIn TikTok and Facebook.

Salary: AED per month (based on experience and portfolio)

Note: Arabic language skills are a Must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage and execute AUE's social media strategy.
  • Create and publish engaging content that aligns with the university's branding and goals.
  • Monitor and analyze platform performance using KPIs to optimize campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content is relevant, timely and visually consistent.
  • Engage with audiences and influencers to enhance online reputation and reach.
  • Cover major university events creating real-time high-quality social media coverage.
  • Train and support internal departments to foster consistent digital messaging.
  • Stay current with platform trends, algorithm changes and emerging tools.
  • Generate reports and insights to support marketing strategies.
  • Uphold AUE's voice and branding across all digital channels.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Journalism or a related field.
  • 46 years of experience managing social media for a brand institution or organization.
  • Strong content portfolio showcasing creativity, campaign execution and growth metrics.
Skills & Competencies
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
  • Proficient with tools such as Hootsuite Buffer Sprout Social or equivalent.
  • Skilled in analytics platforms (e.g. Meta Business Suite Google Analytics).
  • Experienced with basic design and editing tools (e.g. Canva Adobe Suite CapCut).
  • Strong copywriting and visual storytelling ability.
  • Familiarity with content metrics and social media algorithms.
  • Excellent organizational time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with higher education digital trends is preferred.
