Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial advice to the Front Office on deal structure, risks, exposures, and opportunities for value creation.
- Review and approve draft sales and purchase confirmations, amendments, counters, and responses, ensuring accuracy and alignment with agreed deal terms.
- Ensure all agreements comply with company policies related to compliance language, jurisdiction, confidentiality, and sovereign immunity.
- Report deviations from policy through the Incident Management system.
- Support negotiation, drafting, and review of term deals, tenders, storage agreements, master agreements, and side letters.
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes in coordination with Legal and other internal teams.
- Review and negotiate third‑party terms and conditions to minimize exposure and ensure policy alignment.
- Act as custodian for contract clauses and templates, managing updates in the system.
- Maintain accurate records of confirmations and agreements per company documentation standards.
- Support training and onboarding of new staff on trading contract procedures.
- Ensure adherence to company codes of conduct and minimize operational risks.
- Assist in developing and implementing physical contract workflow and policy compliance processes.
- Interpret contract terms for the trading team and provide ongoing guidance.
- Perform additional duties as required while maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor degree in Business, Contract Law, Legal, Commerce, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in trading, operations, or legal functions within a trading environment.
- At least 2 years of experience specifically in trading contract management.
- Advanced knowledge of legal and contractual frameworks including Incoterms, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of trading operations, financial basics, and commercial processes.
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and detail‑oriented skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong collaboration and problem‑solving abilities.
