Job summary

A leading financial institution in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Operations & Accounts Officer to manage middle and back office operations. The successful candidate will handle margin financing, ensure compliance with SCA regulations, and support daily trading activities. Ideal applicants have a finance/accounting degree and at least 5 years of experience in a competitive environment. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential for this role, along with proficiency in MS Excel.

  • Extensive knowledge in capital market operations both locally and internationally.
  • Full awareness of Lombard and margin financing as per regulations.
  • Full awareness of local markets rules & SCA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Looking after overall middle/back office operations covering local and international markets.
  • Posting daily entries on both phoenix & TFIN accounting system.
  • Daily reconciling book balances with bank balances and defining variances.
  • Managing company’s financial assets & monitoring corporate & capital Wakala renewals.
  • Preparing End of month regulatory reporting with Compliance.

Job description
Role: Senior Operations & Accounts Officer

Location: Abu Dhabi

Role Purpose

Looking after overall middle/back office operations covering both local as well as international markets. In addition, the right candidate shall also look after margin financing operating model and all other products.

Key Accountabilities of the role
  • Solid understanding of SCA & Exchanges rules & regulations
  • Posting daily entries on both phoenix & TFIN accounting system
  • Daily reconciling book balances with bank balances and define variances
  • Managing company’s financial assets & monitoring corporate & capital Wakala renewals
  • Ensure Corporate actions are implemented on time
  • End to End management of Margin Trading Product
  • EOD processing & verifications
  • Preparing End of month regulatory reporting with Compliance
  • Ensuring daily settlements with exchanges and foreign counterparties as per defined rules & regulations
  • Process daily Settlements for Foreign Markets
  • Ensuring successful preopen trading sessions in local markets
  • Monitoring the daily trading limits and suggest increase/decrease if necessary
  • Supporting trading desk as and when required
  • Actively work on assigned projects and ensure delivery as per defined timelines
  • Working closely with FCD & External auditors for interim & EOY external audit
  • Working Closely with Compliance for Regulatory inspection
  • Propose new ideas to enhance and automate processes
  • Support other team members and act as backup as and when needed
  • Reconciling and monitoring foreign market trades daily
  • Making sure al CA’s are being handled for all markets and take necessary action
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role
  • University graduate with Finance/accounting background, fluent in English
