Senior Sales Manager (Up to Director level) – Energy & Utilities (MEA)
Location: Middle East (Dubai/Riyadh preferred)
Territory: Middle East & Africa (Focus: MEA, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, Nigeria)
Reporting to: International E&U Head
Role Objective
To double Univers’ footprint in the MEA region by leading the sales of SCADA.PPC, EnOS Cloud (Asset Management), and AI Microgrid solutions. You will be responsible for securing "Whale" accounts among Independent Power Producers (IPPs), Grid Operators, and large-scale Commercial & Industrial (C&I) clients.
1. Complex Ecosystem Selling
Direct to IPP: Lead high-value "Land and Expand" motions with major developers (e.g., ACWA Power, Masdar, EWEC, SEC, Scatec) to standardize Univers software across their GW-scale portfolios.
The EPC/OEM Play: "Spec-in" Univers solutions into the design phase by partnering with tier-1 EPCs and OEMs to ensure our software is the default control system for new tenders.
Grid Operator Engagement: Navigate national utility and dispatch centre requirements to position Univers as the solution for renewable integration and frequency response.
2. Strategic Territory Growth
Identify and qualify "Tier 1" hybrid projects (Solar + Wind + BESS) that require the advanced optimization capabilities of EnOS™.
Execute a "Surgical" sales plan, using data-driven lead scoring to prioritize travel and resources for high-probability, high-margin deals.
Build a robust partner ecosystem in Africa and secondary ME markets to scale without immediate headcount growth.
3. Solution Leadership
Act as a "Consultative Closer"—moving beyond feature selling to demonstrate ROI through AI-driven O&M reduction and grid stability.
Collaborate with the Shanghai-based Sales Ops and Singapore-based Technical teams to deliver high-impact, virtual, and in-person demos.
Experience: 10+ years in B2B sales within the Renewable Energy, Grid Automation, or Industrial Software (IIoT) sectors.
Market Knowledge: Proven track record in the MEA region, specifically dealing with Utility-scale IPP tenders and Grid Code compliance.
Stakeholder Management: Ability to pivot from technical discussions with O&M engineers to financial ROI discussions with investment committee.
Hybrid Asset Expertise: Deep understanding of the challenges in managing Solar + BESS (Battery Energy Storage) and the role of software in optimization.
Travel Mindset: Willingness to travel surgically across the MEA region (approx. 30-40%) to close high-value deals.
