Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel (Temporary) for a 3-6 months contract in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, assist and conclude negotiations of project construction contracts, including engineering, construction, design and build, supply of equipment and critical long lead items, consultancy services, operations and maintenance, facilities management, asset transfers and agreements for lease (in compliance with UAE law).
  • Provide advice and legal support on pre-contract and procurement process, including on RFQs/EOIs, feasibility studies, instructions to tenders, NDAs, bid bonds, forms of contract, contractual clarifications and deviations, performance securities, advance payment bonds, tender bulletins, DISCLAIMERS, letters of award/intent.
  • Contract administration during project execution, including variations, extensions of time, contract amendments, novations and assignments, warranty obligations, dispute avoidance and management, settlement agreements, insurance and indemnity claims and attendant legal correspondences.
  • Provide support on any other legal matters according to the project's needs.
  • Assisting in billings and management of external counsels, presenting internal seminars/workshops and providing mentoring of junior colleagues.
Job Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in front-end construction work with an additional project delivery skill set, acquired at a top US or UK law firm.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging and demanding environment in a large government organisation with competing stakeholder interests and to balance these demands to stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Ability to adapt and work cohesively in a team as well as independently based on competency, experience and skills proficiency.
