Senior Interior Designer (High End Residential Projects)

Overview
Our client, a prestigious and highly regarded interior design studio, renowned for delivering exceptional ultra–high-end residential interiors, is seeking a Senior Interior Designerto join their growing team.
This role is suited to an accomplished designer with 8+ years of experience, a refined design sensibility, and a proven track record delivering luxury residential projects from concept to completion, including post-contract site involvement. You will play a pivotal role in project leadership, client management, and team development, working closely with the Studio Partners while independently leading projects and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Project Leadership
- Lead multiple high-end residential interior projects from concept design through to completion, including post-contract supervision
- Independently manage client meetings, presentations, and design workshops without Partner presence
- Maintain full ownership of design intent, detailing quality, and overall project delivery
- Resolve on-site design and construction issues with confidence and sound judgment
- Ensure designs align with client briefs, budgets, and the studios exceptional quality standards
Client & Consultant Management
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and client satisfaction
- Work closely with consultants, contractors, and suppliers throughout all project phases
- Support the Lead Consultant during interior contractor tender processes
- Provide informed guidance to clients on build costs across high, mid, and lower-tier luxury residential interiors
Budget & Commercial Awareness
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of project budgets and cost implications
- Manage procurement budgets for interior packages as required
- Ensure design decisions remain commercially viable without compromising design excellence
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Act as a senior mentor within the studio, supporting and guiding junior designers in their professional development
- Oversee junior team members project work alongside managing your own projects
- Encourage supplier engagement and learning opportunities for junior colleagues
- Contribute to improving detailing standards and elevating overall studio output
Studio Contribution & Culture
- Assist Partners with internal programming, deadlines, and resource planning
- Represent the studio externally through marketing initiatives, design competitions, panel discussions, and award ceremonies when required
- Promote the studio through professional and industry events
- Support and contribute to studio culture through team activities and social initiatives
Key Requirements
- Minimum 8+ years experience in high-end or ultra high-end residential interior design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design excellence, technical detailing, and full project lifecycle delivery
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong client-facing skills with confidence presenting to UHNW clients
- Solid knowledge of luxury materials, FF&E, bespoke joinery, and construction detailing
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with studio leadership
