Senior Contracts Engineer

KBR is looking for a Senior Contracts Engineer for an EPCM project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Contracts Engineer should have experience in tendering and awarding major EPCM and construction contracts on lump sum, re-measure, reimbursable, and/or unit rate contract basis.

This role involves protecting the CONTRACTOR Company and COMPANY from contractual risks by promoting best practices in contracting methodology and practices.

Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Develop contract strategies.
  • Issue ATT (Approval to Tender) and ATA (Approval to Award).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop prequalification questionnaires and analyze responses.
  • Compile tender lists and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Prepare tender documentation ensuring completeness and viability.
  • Issue tender documentation and oversee clarification meetings.
  • Disseminate information to/from tenderers.
  • Issue tender bulletins and facilitate bid opening.
  • Ensure timely and meaningful technical evaluation of tenders.
  • Analyze commercial submissions and shortlist advantageous offers.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and contract documents.
  • Manage issuance of letters of intent and contracts.
  • Conduct Kick Off Meetings and maintain savings register.
  • Handle correspondence, call-off orders, claims analysis, and claims register.
  • Oversee contract close-out processes.

Education, Skills & Experience:

  • BSc. degree in Legal, Business, or Engineering fields such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or equivalent.
  • Preferably 5+ years (2+ years for contract engineer) in a similar role within brownfield projects.
  • Total of 15+ years (10+ years for contract engineer) in Contracting and Procurement in oil & gas / petrochemical environments.
