Job description

We are seeking a Senior Advisor for Safety Health & Environment to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This key role will focus on overseeing and enhancing the safety, health, and environmental aspects of our sewage treatment plant project.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety, health, and environmental management systems for sewage treatment plant operations
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with local and international SHE regulations
  • Lead the development and implementation of SHE policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Provide expert advice on environmental compliance and occupational health and safety matters to senior management
  • Manage and analyze SHE performance data, preparing detailed reports for stakeholders
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies and represent the organization in SHE-related matters
  • Lead and mentor a team of SHE professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Oversee SHE training programs for employees at all levels
  • Spearhead initiatives to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability of plant operations
  • Collaborate with operations teams to integrate SHE considerations into all aspects of sewage treatment processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in SHE roles with at least 5 years in sewage treatment or wastewater management
  • Proven expertise in environmental management systems, safety protocols, and health standards in industrial settings
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and associated environmental regulations
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, data analysis, and report writing
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • In-depth understanding of UAE environmental regulations and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement SHE policies and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in using environmental management software and data analysis tools
