Our client is a new real estate developer specialized in the construction of contemporary residential real estate projects in Dubai, looking for a Senior Accountant.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting and financial reporting systems from the ground up. This includes overseeing all financial operations, supervising junior accounting staff, preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. The company offers a great opportunity for this position to grow professionally, as you will play a key leadership role in building the finance function and driving the financial integrity and success of the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up, manage, and continuously improve the company’s accounting and financial reporting systems in alignment with UAE regulations and international standards (IFRS).

Oversee all daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, including monitoring actual performance against budgets and analyzing variances.

Supervise and mentor a small accounting team (2–3 members), reviewing their work, providing guidance, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Ensure timely and accurate VAT filings and adherence to all tax and regulatory requirements in the UAE.

Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.

Manage internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and liaising with auditors.

Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information and safeguard company assets.

Support project-level accounting for real estate developments, including cost tracking, payment schedules, and progress billing.

Maintain strong relationships with banks, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations and best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and efficient.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional certification is strongly preferred (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent).

5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.

Minimum 2 years in a Senior Accountant or supervisory role.

Industry experience in real estate development, construction, or property management is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of UAE VAT laws, corporate tax, and financial reporting standards (IFRS).

Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or ERP platforms like Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).

Experience in managing accounting functions in a startup or company in the setup/growth phase is a plus.

Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop a small team (2–3 junior accountants).

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

High level of integrity and professional ethics.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
