About the job Sales Engineer- Ship repair

The Sales Engineer is responsible for generating sales and providing technical expertise to customers regarding our ship repair services. This role involves understanding customer needs, presenting tailored solutions, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Your goal is to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to the company's overall sales targets and growth strategy. Strong technical knowledge of ship repair processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand and address client requirements are essential for success in this position. Supporting the ship repair sales initiative. The sales engineer to be involved in selling our marine equipment, existing marine doors we manufacture and further developing the marine doors product range.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Identify and target potential clients within the maritime industry. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Technical Consultation: Act as the technical expert in ship repair services. Understand the technical requirements of clients' ships and provide suitable repair solutions. Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals.
  • Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets. Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the ship repair industry.
  • Quotation and Contract Negotiation: Prepare detailed quotations and negotiate contracts with clients. Ensure all contractual agreements are met and documented accurately.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with the engineering and project management teams to ensure seamless execution of repair projects. Monitor project progress and communicate with clients to provide updates and address any concerns.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies and service offerings. Provide insights and recommendations to the management team.
  • Customer Support: Provide post-sales support to clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and project details. Prepare regular reports for management on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
Business Development
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify new business opportunities within the maritime industry, including new markets, growth areas, partnerships
  • Improving product range: Identify opportunities to add new products or services to our range or improving the existing products or services in line with market trends and client requirement.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business development strategies that align with market requirement, company goals and objectives.
  • Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, including shipowners, operators, and other maritime service providers.
  • Proposal Development: Lead the development of business proposals and presentations for potential clients and partners.
  • Partnerships and Alliances: Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and alliances to expand service offerings and market reach.
  • Brand Promotion: Promote the company's brand and services at industry events, conferences, and through various marketing channels.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Must have existing experience as sales of technical products or services where he had to sell to ship owners. Ideally, the past experience of sales of ship repair services
  • Educational Background: In order of priority Bachelor degree or higher as marine engineer, naval architect, mechanical engineer, and electrical engineer.
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess the ability of technical comprehension, analysis of drawing and reading of technical specification
  • Sales Skills: Excellent sales and negotiation skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze client needs and provide innovative solutions.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to meet clients and attend industry events as required.

  • CRM Proficiency: Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
