Job summary

A logistics company in Dubai is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure workplace safety and compliance with health regulations. Responsibilities include supervising H&S matters, conducting training sessions, maintaining safety equipment, and leading emergency evacuations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and be NEBOSH / IOSH trained, with strong people management and communication skills. This position offers a monthly salary of AED 3,500, plus allowances and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all Health & Safety (H&S) related matters.
  • Prepare & maintain H&S check list.
  • Ensure all workers are wearing proper PPE.
  • Conduct daily rounds to identify abnormalities and hazards.
  • Maintain discipline and harmony in the facility.
  • Assist in periodic H&S training and safety awareness.
  • Inspect and maintain safety equipment and tools.
  • Provide First Aid and maintain First Aid kits.
  • Lead emergency evacuation drills.
  • Implement waste management and housekeeping systems.

Description
  • Supervise and coordinate all Health & Safety (H&S) related matters in the facility.
  • Prepare & maintain H&S check list identified in the facility.
  • Arrange and ensure all workers are wearing proper PPE.
  • Ensure timeliness and discipline during break times.
  • Conduct daily rounds of the facility to identify any abnormalities and hazards; coordinate with supervisor for the same, both inside and outside the perimeter of the facility.
  • Maintain discipline and harmony in the facility in coordination with the Supervisors and the Manager.
  • Bring to management notice any indiscipline / disruptive / dishonest conduct by workers.
  • Assist in having periodic H&S training and safety awareness for all staff to encourage them to work in a safe way and also conduct Safety Induction training for all staff.
  • Assist in recording the incident & accident reports.
  • Inspect, maintain, and keep records of the safety equipment and tools; arrange for their periodic checkup and repair.
  • In charge of First Aid kits and shall keep stock & records of items in the kits and arrange for its daily replenishment. Provide First Aid to staff.
  • Participate in conducting the evacuation drills, as well as be responsible to lead the emergency evacuation with designated evacuation team.
  • Check and ensure emergency exit doors are well maintained.
  • Monitoring of high-risk activities in the facility.
  • Implement a proper waste management system; housekeeping systems in workplaces & maintain social hygiene.
  • Any other tasks assigned by Department head when the need arises.
