Responsibilities

MBZUAI is looking for passionate and highly motivated faculty. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and actively engaging in interdisciplinary research. Faculty members will also have the opportunity to collaborate with leading AI researchers, work on cutting-edge projects, and contribute to the university\'s growth as a hub for AI excellence.

The Department of Robotics was established in 2023 and is in a fast-growing phase. We welcome applications to the faculty position at all levels (Assistant, Associate and Full Professor).

The Department of Robotics in MBZUAI focuses on AI-based robotics research for the future of human society. The fields of research are: foundation models for robots in various real-world environments; reinforcement learning of robot control for manipulation and mobility in unstructured dynamical environments; humanoid robotics including whole-body imitation learning, human-motion understanding, human-robot interactions using linguistic, psychological and cognitive tokens; and data-science of robots and humans including multimodal data acquisition. The real-world scope of application spans industrial, agricultural, household, healthcare, urban, natural, and planetary environments.

Qualifications
