Resident Site Manager - Barakah
General Job Function:
Provides on-site leadership to ensure Westinghouse delivers safe, high-quality services with a focus on customer satisfaction. Achieves financial targets set for the customer. Builds and maintains valuable customer relationships through a solid understanding of site-specific needs and the customer's buying protocol to support feeding the sales pipeline back into the Westinghouse sales team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement standards contained in Westinghouse Codes of Business Ethics & Conduct. Ensure all employees reporting to this position are informed about the standards and policies, and enforce them within this supervised activity.
On-Site Customer Support
- Serve as the Westinghouse presence at the customer site, representing Westinghouse's ability to respond to planned and emergent customer needs.
- Provide valuable customer information that helps build relationships and a broader understanding of the customer's site needs.
- Ensure Westinghouse activities and interactions are implemented consistent with site-specific environment policies, procedures, and organization to meet requirements and eliminate the cost of poor quality.
- Serve as champion for human performance (HuP) and safety.
Identify Customer Needs
- VOC: Issue regular plant status reports as appropriate. Identify unmet customer needs and communicate within the sales and product teams for potential solutions.
- Collect marketplace data including customer long-term O&M and capital plans, as well as competitor intelligence, and communicate with relevant Account Manager.
- Grow the Pipeline: Identify and evaluate customer needs, review bid specifications for applicability of WEC products and services.
- Propose: Coordinate and solicit various product lines for technical and financial input in support of the proposal process. Submit proposals and negotiate up to contract signature for basic opportunities with standard T&Cs as per the DOR.
- Pursue: Push the identified business opportunities within the customer organization.
Execution Oversight
- Provide guidance, coaching, and oversight to field project managers in executing specific projects.
- Oversee scope development, schedule development, contingency planning, and work package development.
- Supervise Westinghouse personnel on site and provide performance feedback.
- Work with the customer to remove barriers to project completion, including work scopes, logistics, and physical issues.
- Escalate unresolved issues through proper channels for mutual resolution.
- Coordinate the development of long-term strategic maintenance and performance programs integrated into outage planning.
- Support the Account Executive on customer projects and OPS services.
- Develop status reports and lead presentations to various executive teams.
- Manage customer satisfaction issues and evaluate performance metrics.
- Provide feedback and mentorship to project and service teams.
- Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Customer Relationships
- Build consultative relationships at all levels within the site, including operations, maintenance, and engineering decision-makers.
- Use CRM tools to capture intelligence and document actions.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of Westinghouse products and services to become a trusted advisor.
- Attend relevant meetings to understand customer issues and needs.
- Lead resolution of scope delays, contract changes, and related site activities.
Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 10 years of engineering or field experience, including prior outage and/or on-site utility experience. Significant customer-facing experience at plant and corporate levels.
- Broad technical knowledge of plant operations and engineering practices.
- Experience in contract management, customer negotiations, and supplier delivery.
