The InterContinental Fujairah Resort is a luxury five‑star destination on the pristine Al Aqah Beach, surrounded by the majestic Hajjar Mountains. With 190 rooms, indoor & outdoor event spaces, restaurants & bar, the resort offers an exceptional blend of Arabian hospitality and world‑class amenities.

As a Recreation Manager you will lead and manage the resort’s luxury recreation and fitness operations, including pools, beach, and health club. The role ensures exceptional guest experiences, effective financial performance, and a motivated, well‑trained team. You will act as a visionary leader who creates memorable and personalized experiences while maintaining InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand standards and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor the departmental business plan and budget with measurable targets in line with hotel objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales & Marketing to promote recreation, fitness, and wellness products and services.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances against budget, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure optimal and efficient use of departmental resources.
  • Establish procedures to track, control, and report departmental operating costs.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial and performance reports.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy in all point‑of‑sale operations and financial transactions.
People Management
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high‑performance recreation team.
  • Design and deliver orientation and onboarding programs for new colleagues.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and deliver relevant training programs.
  • Plan and manage bonus, commission, and incentive schemes in alignment with hotel standards and marketing budgets.
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline colleagues constructively to enhance performance and engagement.
  • Approve leave requests while balancing operational requirements and business fluctuations.
Guest Experience
  • Ensure exceptional setup, maintenance, and operation of all recreation facilities including pools, beach, and health club.
  • Deliver attentive, personalized, and prompt service at all times to exceed guest expectations.
  • Design and implement creative, engaging, and value‑added recreational activities for resort guests.
  • Source and manage external entertainment and activity providers to offer unique experiences that differentiate the resort from competitors.
  • Personally engage with guests by responding promptly and professionally to requests and feedback.
  • Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction and proactively enhance services based on guest feedback.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification.
  • Qualifications in Leisure Management from a reputable institute.
  • 3 to 5 years of leadership and pre‑opening experience of a luxury recreation facility at a five‑star resort.
