Job summary

A prominent engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to assist in planning and executing construction activities. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in MEP construction, with at least 5 years in the UAE. Responsibilities include supervising MEP installations, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong problem-solving skills are essential. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of overall experience in MEP construction, with at least 5 years in the UAE/GCC.
• Solid understanding of MEP systems installation and coordination in commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Civil Defense) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and delivering MEP-related construction activities.
• Supervise on-site MEP installations including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Review MEP drawings and material submittals for compliance with project specifications.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning executing and delivering MEP-related construction activities.
• Supervise on-site MEP installations including HVAC plumbing drainage fire fighting and electrical systems.
• Coordinate with consultants contractors and other engineering disciplines to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
• Review MEP drawings shop drawings and material submittals for compliance with project specifications and local regulations.
• Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor and track project progress report issues or delays and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks.
• Participate in site inspections testing and commissioning of MEP systems.
• Maintain proper documentation including daily site reports material logs and correspondence with stakeholders.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of overall experience in MEP construction with at least5 years in the UAE/GCC.
• Solid understanding of MEP systems installation and coordination in commercial residential and infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements (DEWA ADDC SEWA Civil Defense etc.)
• Proficient in AutoCAD MS Office and project tracking tools.
• Strong problem-solving communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be currently residing in the UAE.
