Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer - Control System Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will oversee the design integrity and compliance on industry-critical projects, ensuring performance and reliability in line with client standards. Candidates must have at least 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including 5 years in the GCC region. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas.
  • At least 5 years managing teams in mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • Fully coherent in international codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure detail design meets client’s requirements.
  • Participate in project scheduling and review activities.
  • Carry out calculations to finalize equipment specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Expertise in Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS), and Functional Safety (SIL study, SRS, Safety Integrity Level verification, Functional Safety Assessments)
  • Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used on assigned projects meet the Client’s requirements
  • Participate in project scheduling and project review activities; carry out calculations & studies required to finalize electrical equipment specifications

Expected
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum 5 years (preferred) in GCC region
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing team of Engineers and designers
  • Fully coherent in all international codes and standards
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English is required
  • Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn / Flexible with a can‑do attitude
  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Principal Engineer - Control System Engineer to be based at office in Abu Dhabi within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at our office in Abu Dhabi.
