Job Summary: Are you passionate about engineering planning and technical innovation within the mechanical field. We are looking for a proactive and dedicated individual to join our team as a Planning Engineer. This pivotal role will enable the seamless delivery of mechanical engineering projects through meticulous planning, coordination, and effective communication. Your selling skills, technical expertise, and problem‑solving ability will be essential in driving both project and business success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules for mechanical engineering projects ensuring timely delivery in line with company objectives.
• Coordinate with engineering, production and sales teams to communicate project requirements and align priorities throughout the lifecycle of each project.
• Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to gather technical requirements, clarify project specifications and secure approvals as needed.
• Monitor and report on project progress, resolving scheduling conflicts and implementing corrective actions to address any delays or issues.
• Optimise resource allocation, documenting and adjusting plans to accommodate changes in scope or client needs while maintaining efficiency.
• Facilitate risk assessments and mitigation planning to ensure project continuity and safety.
• Support the sales team with technical input during proposal preparation including technical presentations and client consultations.

Required Skills

• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical engineering principles, processes and best practices.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal, enabling clear interaction with clients, colleagues and team members at all levels.
• Demonstrated selling skills, especially in explaining technical concepts and presenting project solutions to clients.
• Proficiency in project planning software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera P6) and standard engineering tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contracts fluently.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in planning, scheduling or coordination roles within mechanical engineering, manufacturing or similar industries.
• Familiarity with modern project management methodologies and tools.
