We are now looking for a Piping Material Engineer execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi.

Reports To

The Piping Material Engineer reports to the Head of Discipline, Mechanical Discipline.

Job Overview

The Piping Material Engineer is responsible for handling engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.

In your role, you will execute piping engineering projects in a safe manner, budget, schedule, and quality.

You should have a desire to work on multi-discipline local as well overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by working together with the assigned discipline designers and engineers.

Piping Material Engineer shall be technically qualified (Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or equivalent with 12 years’ minimum Oil & Gas experience) in discipline Piping, 2D/3D CADD systems, specifically in Engineering Designs and interdisciplinary layout preparation utilizing the 2D/3D Modeling techniques.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop, review, and update Piping Material Specifications (PMS),Valve Specifications, and Piping Classes.
  • Provide technical guidance to piping layout, stress, and process teams.
  • Review P&IDs to ensure correct material selection and valve classification.
  • Support resolution of material-related queries during 3D modelling, piping layout, and stress analysis.
  • Evaluate project design changes for material impact.
  • Ensure adherence to international codes such as ASME B31.3, B31.1, ASTM, API, NACE, and project specific standards.
  • Prepare Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and vendor clarification responses.
  • Familiarity with sour service, cryogenic service, and high-temperature materials.
  • Review project deliverables ensuring material consistency across disciplines.
  • Ability to manage vendor interactions and procurement processes.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Graduate (BEng, BSc. or MSc.) in Mechanical or Technical related degree.
  • Minimum of 12 years relevant engineering experience in EPC, EPCM or PMC.
  • Good leadership and coordination, analytic and pro‑active approach competence in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries.
  • Willingness to overcome challenges and pressure during the peak of the project.
  • Willing to do extensive site‑surveys during project execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in the English language.
