A private household is looking for an experienced Personal Assistant/Personal Shopper to manage a busy lifestyle for the principal. This includes diary management, personal shopping, running errands, and providing household support. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in similar roles, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. We are seeking an organised discreet and proactive Personal Assistant / Personal Shopper to support a private household and principal. The role combines high-level diary and household management, running personal errands and providing tailored shopping services to ensure the smooth running of daily life and to maintain a polished lifestyle standard.
Manage the principal's calendar, schedule appointments, coordinate travel and ensure timely reminders for meetings and commitments.
Handle confidential correspondence, respond to emails and messages on behalf of the principal where appropriate, and liaise with household staff and external contacts professionally and discreetly.
Prepare briefings, itineraries and documents for meetings, travel and events ensuring all necessary information and materials are available.
Source and purchase clothing, accessories, gifts, household items and specialist goods according to brief, budget and style preferences.
Maintain relationships with preferred suppliers, boutiques and services; arrange fittings, alterations and returns as required.
Manage orders, deliveries and payments ensuring items are inspected, stored or presented to the principal to an agreed standard.
Undertake day-to-day errands such as dry cleaning, deliveries, post, document collection and other tasks that support household operations and the principal's personal needs.
Coordinate appointments and services for household maintenance and liaise with external contractors or suppliers when required.
Assist with simple household administration including bills, subscriptions and record keeping as directed by the household manager or principal.
Support planning and execution of private events, dinners and social commitments, assisting with invitations, RSVP management and on-the-day coordination.
Organise travel arrangements, prepare packing lists, manage luggage and ensure the principal has everything required for business and leisure trips.
Maintain the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality in all matters relating to the principal and household.
Present professionally, act courteously with household members, guests and suppliers and represent the household positively at all times.
Adhere to household policies, security procedures and any dietary or health considerations when undertaking tasks.
Experience
Proven experience as a Personal Assistant, Personal Shopper or similar role within private households, estates, hospitality or client services.
Experience dealing with high-net-worth individuals, VIPs or demanding clients is desirable with strong references to support confidentiality and reliability.
Skills & Abilities
Exceptional organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities calmly and efficiently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident in liaising with suppliers, staff and external contacts.
Strong personal shopping ability with a good eye for style, quality and value; able to follow briefs and offer considered recommendations.
Discreet, trustworthy and respectful of confidentiality at all times.
IT literate with competence in calendar systems, email, basic spreadsheets and online ordering platforms.
Flexibility to work variable hours including occasional early starts, evenings and weekends to meet the household's needs.
Full UK driving licence and confident driving ability preferred; willingness to travel locally and occasionally further afield as required.
