Summary

This position is affiliated with Cincinnati’s Children’s hospital in the USA. The Consultant in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery provides expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of congenital and acquired craniofacial conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.

Education/Qualification:
  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Arabic Speaker is an advantage
  3. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from North America
      • USA: American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
License:
  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and manage craniofacial anomalies including craniosynostosis, cleft lip and palate, craniofacial syndromes, facial trauma, and airway‑related deformities.
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments, imaging reviews, and multidisciplinary evaluations.
  • Develop and implement surgical and non‑surgical treatment plans in line with best practice and hospital protocols.
  • Perform craniofacial and reconstructive procedures, including pre‑ and post‑operative management.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary craniofacial clinics alongside neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, orthodontics, speech therapy, and psychology teams.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care, including perioperative planning and long‑term follow‑up.
  • Review diagnostic imaging, lab results, and specialist reports to guide treatment decisions.
  • Communicate clearly with families regarding diagnosis, surgical options, risks, outcomes, and recovery plans.
  • Support families through counseling, education, and coordinated care planning.
  • Lead ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and case reviews.
  • Accept referrals from emergency services, pediatric departments, and external healthcare facilities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with hospital and DOH standards.
  • Supervise and support junior doctors, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in clinical teaching, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Contribute to service development, surgical pathways, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and credentialing of clinical staff when required.
  • Follow hospital policies, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in audits, safety reporting, and performance review activities.
