Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled OpenShift & Linux Administrator to manage the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform along with its underlying Linux infrastructure. This role is dedicated to ensuring cluster reliability, security and performance while also maintaining the Linux operating systems that support the OpenShift environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure and maintain Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters.
- Administer and manage Linux servers (RHEL/CoreOS) that host OpenShift nodes.
- Perform regular cluster and Linux OS patching, upgrades and security hardening.
- Manage and troubleshoot OpenShift resources (projects, pods, deployments, services, ingress operators).
- Configure and maintain networking, storage and load balancing within OpenShift and Linux.
- Monitor and tune cluster and OS performance, ensuring availability and scalability.
- Manage user accounts, RBAC policies and authentication/authorization in OpenShift and Linux.
- Perform backup, restore and disaster recovery of OpenShift clusters and Linux systems.
- Configure and maintain logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, EFK/ELK).
- Generate and maintain cluster Linux documentation, SOPs and operational runbooks.
- Provide support to application and DevOps teams deploying workloads into OpenShift.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven hands‑on experience administering Red Hat OpenShift (3.x/4.x).
- Strong Linux system administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Good understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals.
- Experience with OpenShift networking, storage and node lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with Linux security hardening, patch management and system performance tuning.
- Knowledge of OpenShift Operators and cluster add‑ons.
- Experience with scripting (Bash, YAML, Python) for automation.
- Troubleshooting expertise across both container platform and OS layers.
Preferred Skills
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280) or RHCSA/RHCE certification.
- Experience with OpenShift upgrades and multi‑cluster administration.
- Exposure to Linux system monitoring tools (Nagios, Dynatrace, Satellite, etc.).
- Understanding of OpenShift security hardening and compliance best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
