A leading hotel chain is seeking a maintenance technician to respond to guest repairs and perform preventive maintenance. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing kitchen and mechanical room equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining inventory. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and some experience in hotel engineering or general maintenance, along with a driver's license.
POSITION SUMMARY
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and cleanup of repair areas. Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment including plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and manage inventory related to housekeeping and engineering. Use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work. Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinklers. Display basic computer skills for inputting schedules and adjusting temperatures.
Follow all company safety, security policies, and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly. Ensure a professional appearance, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards. Develop positive relationships with colleagues, support team efforts, and respond to concerns appropriately. Communicate clearly and professionally. Lift objects up to 50 pounds without assistance; heavier tasks with help. Navigate stairs, ramps, ladders, and reach overhead or below the knees. Use computers to locate work-related information. Perform other reasonable duties as requested.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
Supervisory Experience: None.
License or Certification: Driver's License.
