Job Summary

The Monitor Technician Hemodialysis (HD) is responsible for continuous observation and monitoring of patients vital signs and cardiac rhythms during dialysis treatments. This role ensures patient safety by promptly recognizing and reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff and assisting with basic patient care tasks within the scope of training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously monitor patients cardiac rhythms and vital signs during hemodialysis sessions.
  • Recognize and interpret arrhythmias and promptly notify the RN or physician of any significant changes.
  • Document patient monitoring data accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of monitoring equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Perform basic patient care tasks as delegated by the nursing staff (e.g. checking blood pressure pulse and oxygen saturation).
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with nurses doctors and other healthcare team members.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols in the dialysis unit.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean organized and safe work environment.
  • Respect patient confidentiality and uphold the standards of patient care.
Requirements
