Overview

The Role – Construction Manager – MEP. Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Industry: Contracting / Construction. Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite. A leading contracting company in Dubai is seeking an experienced Construction Manager – MEP to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems across high-profile building and infrastructure projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering complex MEP packages in fast-paced construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of MEP construction activities on-site, ensuring delivery in accordance with design, schedule, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with overall project works.
• Review and interpret MEP designs, drawings, and specifications; provide technical guidance as needed.
• Monitor site progress, conduct inspections, and proactively resolve technical or execution issues.
• Ensure all MEP works comply with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Manage procurement and timely delivery of MEP materials and equipment.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of all MEP systems.
• Prepare regular progress reports and update project stakeholders on MEP status.
• Lead and mentor MEP site teams and subcontractors, ensuring effective workforce coordination.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP construction, with at least 5 years in a similar leadership role in the UK or GCC.
• Proven experience on mid- to large-scale commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and BMS.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities on fast-track projects.
• Preferred Candidate: Background in working for Tier-1 or reputable contracting firms in the region.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD).
• Fluent in English.
• PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
