Job Responsibilities:
- Organizing, cataloguing, and maintaining the library collection according to established standards
- Assisting patrons in locating materials and answering reference questions
- Implementing library policies and procedures for effective functioning
- Performing circulation duties such as checking out books, collecting fines, and renewing materials
- Assisting patrons with electronic databases and online resources for research
- Developing programs to promote library usage among children, teens, and adults
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Librarian or in a similar role in a public or private library
- Strong knowledge of library operations, cataloguing, and classification systems; understanding of copyright laws is a plus
- Proficiency in relevant software applications such as Word, spreadsheets, and database management systems
