Job summary

A leading legal consulting firm in Dubai seeks a Legal Researcher (Bilingual) to provide comprehensive legal support. The ideal candidate has expertise in drafting legal documents in Arabic and English, a law degree, and preferably experience within the GCC. Responsibilities include managing litigation cases, assisting with legal compliance, and reviewing grievances, all while working closely with various departments. This onsite role comes with an employment visa and medical insurance.

Role Title: Legal Researcher (Bilingual)

Role Type: Outsourced Full Time OnSite

Contract Duration: 6 months extendable

Role Summary

Extensive expertise and proficiency in legal cases including drafting and preparing legal briefs and pleadings as well as a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations in force in the UAE.

Education / Experience
  • A university degree (Bachelors) or equivalent years of experience in the same field.
  • A law license or authorization to practice law from an Arab country or membership in its Bar Association.
  • Preferably at least one year of experience in one of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
Skills
  • Proficiency in Legal Drafting: Exceptional skill in legal drafting in both Arabic and English with a strong command of legal terminology.
  • Proficient in computer skills particularly in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Carry out activities related to drafting the statement of claim and preparing legal briefs, responses and pleadings at all stages of litigation. Manage cases referred from various departments within the group and its subsidiaries, present them to the direct supervisor and implement their instructions accordingly.
  • Assist in monitoring the performance of clients and suppliers of the group issuing legal notices or warnings as necessary and participating in the enforcement of legal measures against them.
  • Review grievances and complaints submitted by employees or individuals affected by the group’s decisions, assess the validity of the grievances and provide legal recommendations to the decision‑making body. Report findings to the direct supervisor, implement their instructions and participate in investigation and disciplinary committees.
  • Prepare statements of claim, defence briefs and case files for civil, criminal and administrative cases involving the Group and its subsidiaries. Handle and follow up on criminal reports before police prosecution in local and federal courts and any other judicial or governmental authorities.
  • Deep understanding of the law including knowledge of legal statutes and procedures particularly those applicable in the United Arab Emirates as well as awareness of legal developments.
  • Conduct investigations into matters referred by departments, provide technical and legal opinions and report findings to the direct supervisor. Prepare initial memoranda, coordinate with relevant authorities and follow up on cases related to the group in coordination with the State Cases Authority. Report results to the direct supervisor and implement their instructions.
  • Carry out activities related to preparing lawsuits involving the Group including organising documents, drafting initial memoranda, coordinating with relevant authorities and following up on cases in collaboration with the State Cases Authority. Report results to the direct supervisor and implement their instructions.
  • Participate in proposing settlements and reconciliations for cases involving the group in coordination with relevant authorities and report the results to the direct supervisor for submission to the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in reviewing and developing legislation and laws related to the Group’s operations in coordination and collaboration with relevant authorities.
  • Assist in analysing legal matters referred by the Group and its subsidiaries, providing specialised legal opinions, reporting findings to the direct supervisor and executing their directives.
  • Assist in conducting legal studies and research related to the Group and its subsidiaries, providing specialised legal opinions, reporting findings to the direct supervisor and carrying out their instructions.
  • Collaborate with the departments of subsidiaries on matters related to public prosecution reports within the country and follow up on them.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Time Management: Efficiently organise time to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Other Duties: Perform any additional responsibilities related to this role.
