Learning Support Assistant - August 2025

Kings’ School Nad Al Sheba is seeking Learning Support Assistant to join our excellent and highly successful department in August 2025 to work efficiently alongside the SENCo, Learning Support Teachers and classroom/subject teachers to provide effective support and knowledge either within the primary or secondary department. Providing extra support for small groups of children and one to one sessions.

This is a superb opportunity for aspiring, imaginative and inspirational individual to join an outstanding, creative, innovative and supportive team.

The Successful Candidates Will Need To

  • Have an understanding of how to support children with barriers to their learning and additional needs.
  • To work alongside the Learning Support Teachers and specialists and classroom/subject teachers to provide efficient support and knowledge, within secondary.
  • To provide curricular support for children with learning difficulties, including booster groups, in class support and one to one support as required.
  • To contribute to the assessment of pupils and reporting pupil performance to classroom teachers.
  • To support children on IEP’s and be aware of and contribute to their individualised targets.
  • To have up to date knowledge with regards to the implementation of learning strategies and resources.
  • To liaise with the classroom/subject teacher as necessary all times to guarantee active child support and development.
  • To plan in advance support sessions for children, to ensure effective learning support and the ability to track progression.
  • To attend both learning support and phase meetings and share concerns efficiently and proactively.
  • To be present at in school learning support training and attend staff meetings when required.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Holds a minimum high school qualification
  • Minimum of two years experience working in a school setting
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills in English
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum or EYFS curriculum
  • Previous classroom/learning assistance experience
  • To have up to date knowledge of learning support strategies
