Opportunity
Wood is recruiting for a Lead Planner to join its UAE Business Unit focusing on preparation, review and reporting of accurate project schedules and plans for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Dubai, UAE.
This is a full-time office-based role in Dubai, UAE with travel requirement.
Key Objectives
- Prepare, review and report accurate project schedules and plans to support robust project control.
- Develop project schedules to required detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies.
- Identify best practice and drive continuous improvement within the Planning team.
- Manage and develop the Planning team and schedule documentation.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Act as planning focal point for specific project scopes.
- Maintain and review planning control structures aligned with project WBS.
- Review baseline project plans and schedules and monitor project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction and third parties to maintain project awareness.
- Provide project plans, schedules and progress status reports to meet project reporting requirements.
- Update project plans, manpower requirements and assess schedule impact of change notifications.
- Monitor and review overall project progress and milestones and evaluate performance in relation to planned performance.
- Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings.
- Ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and assess change impact on schedules.
- Participate in schedule risk analysis and project controls compliance and continuous improvement reviews.
- Mentor and develop planning personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technical or business discipline.
- Minimum 5 years relevant scheduling/planning experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Primavera and scheduling software, logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling.
- Advanced knowledge of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities.
- Excellent understanding of earned value, cost and schedule variance analysis and what-if scenarios.
- Strong understanding of cost management, change control, planning and risk analysis.
- Experience in a senior planning role.
