A luxury hotel is seeking a skilled Kitchen/Laundry Technician responsible for the maintenance and repair of all kitchen and laundry equipment. The ideal candidate should have a technical diploma and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. The Kitchen/Laundry Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and proper operation of all kitchen and laundry equipment within the hotel. This role ensures that all equipment is in safe, efficient working condition to support smooth food production and laundry operations, thereby contributing to overall guest and colleague satisfaction.
Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on all kitchen and laundry equipment, including dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, washing machines, dryers, steamers, and boilers.
Perform routine inspections and testing to ensure equipment is functioning at optimal efficiency and in compliance with safety standards.
Respond promptly to breakdowns and service requests from the Culinary and Laundry departments.
Maintain proper records of preventive maintenance schedules, repair works, and spare parts used.
Assist in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new equipment.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental standards while performing duties.
Report major issues or repeated failures to the Duty Engineer / Engineering Manager for corrective action.
Support other technicians in the Engineering team when required.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workshop and ensure tools are kept in good condition.
Assist in energy conservation and cost-saving initiatives within the department.
Attend departmental meetings and training as required.
Technical diploma/certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel or facilities management environment.
Strong knowledge of kitchen and laundry equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics.
Hands-on skills in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
Basic computer literacy for maintenance reporting.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and flexible with working shifts.
Good communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
