Job description
Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret contract documents detailed structural drawings specifications and health & safety requirements including all revisions and updates relevant to infrastructure and bridge works.
  • Ensure that the contractors structural works comply with approved drawings design specifications and Dubai authority standards (RTA DM).
  • Conduct daily inspections of structural activities such as culverts underpasses retaining walls foundations abutments piers decks precast elements and other reinforced concrete structures.
  • Verify reinforcement details formwork concrete placement expansion joints bearings anchor bolts embedded items and other structural components as per approved shop drawings and method statements.
  • Check alignment level and dimensions during structural works using surveying instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with design tolerances.
  • Monitor the contractors manpower equipment and work progress to ensure adherence to the approved baseline program and quality plan.
  • Ensure proper handling delivery storage and installation of structural materials (reinforcement steel formwork concrete structural steel precast elements etc.) in line with approved submittals and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive daily inspection reports (DIRs) Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and quality records for all structural activities.
  • Issue and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Site Observation Reports (SORs) to ensure timely corrective actions and closure.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (roads utilities geotechnical and architectural) to resolve interface and site coordination issues.
  • Ensure that the works conform to quality safety and environmental standards and are executed in compliance with the projects Quality Management System (QMS) and HSE requirements.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) in reviewing method statements inspection & test plans (ITPs) and material submittals related to structural works.
  • Participate in inspections for completed structures punch lists load testing and handover activities.
  • Support the RE/ARE in monitoring contractor performance and verifying that structural works progress according to approved schedule and workmanship standards.
  • Attend site meetings and coordinate with contractors consultants and client representatives as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of experience within similar projects with minimum 3 years in UAE.
  • UAE experience is preferred
  • Marine projects experience is preferred
  • Relevant experience in comparable structural & roads projects
  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • RTA Approval is preferred
